How is CPEC benefiting Gwadar and Baluchistan
Pakistan’s latest venture known as CPEC has triggered fast paced development in its third deep-sea port known as Gwadar. Previously it was just a small fishing village, now it is on the course to be one of Pakistan’s most vibrant and progressing economic entity.
For many years Pakistan’s largest province was heavily neglected and there was no significant development in the region. However Gwadar and CPEC are proving to be a game changer for Baluchistan. The Government of Pakistan and the Chinese have prioritized the development of the province and have stated that Baluchistan would be the main beneficiary of the CPEC initiative.
China has introduced an array of new technologies that are being used to build up the province and with their expertise it is bound spur economic activity. They also intend to utilize the local population by providing them with various job opportunities.
Various training facilities are being built to help in empowering the local population with necessary skills and abilities that will allow them to take control of their province.
The Government is prioritizing development in Baluchistan, and especially Gwadar, and is working towards raising the economic activity in the region. Experts and analysts are hopeful and believe it will be necessary for the betterment of the province. Since the start of this venture, the army has worked side by side to secure the area and reduce threats in the area. Since then various housing scheme have started in Gwadar indicating that the city is now a habitable area. Many luxurious housing schemes have land for sale in Gwadar at easily affordable rates.
To improve the energy crises in the area, energy projects worth $7,400 million that will produce 3000 MW are being built that will significantly reduce the shortage of electricity and boost the performance of industries.
