How has Gwadar progressed over the years

















Around 5 years ago many Gwadar Housing schemes were under the process of being developed. Some areas did not even have a full-time access to basic life necessities such has gas, electricity and fresh water. In fact there were areas reported that had only 8 hours of electricity supply. The education in the region wasn’t very high quality and the city didn’t have proper schools. Before the arrival of the Chinese, the rate of development was slow. However as soon as the CPEC project started, the city’s situation changed and Gwadar started advancing.

And now in 2017 despite all of these short comings thereal estate of Gwadar is booming and the value of land for sale in Gwadar is incrementing on a monthly basis. The primary reason for this is no doubt the multi-billion dollar project China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC, and what the future holds for Gwadar.

FUTURE OF GWADAR:
It has to be noted that the past few months have shown that Gwadar is now starting to rise and is slowly transforming into the city of the future. Various projects under CPEC are addressing the lacking facilities in Gwadar, projects like:-
  • Fresh water and Desalination Plant is being built in Gwadar near the port, to provide fresh and clean drinking water for the population there
  • China-Pak Friendship Hospital which will have a capacity of more than 200 beds is being built to provide better medical facilities in the city.
  • A primary school and University of Gwadar to bebuilt, to improve the literacy rate and the educational standards of the city.
  • A 300MW Coal Based Energy Project at Gwadar, to provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity.
All of these developments are having an important and positive effect on the industries of Gwadar. In ten years from now when most of the CPEC projects are completed it is expected, they will create more than 200,000 jobs for the population and increase the country’s growth rate by 5%.

How Gwadar emerged on the map

After a massive earthquake hit the coast of the Pakistani province, Balochistan and caused a major population cut down in 2014, it was barely noted what this calamity carried for the future as the whole Nation was occupied with distress and the untiring efforts to re-inhabit the victims of the flood preceded by sea storm. Pakistan benefiting greatly from the Chinese friendship
